The aluminum trailer pictured above scares me for towing a Camaro. A spec Miata maybe.

Nothing is ever simple, the trailer has to fit in my garage so 19' overall length.
Both of the trailers that I posted are 16' bed length.
Did I read on one of the trailer websites about a folding tongue? I can't seem to find anything now so maybe I imagined it.
Wow ... that will be a tough demension to find. A 16' trailer will almost always have more than a 3' tongue.Quote:

A minimal sized trailer (one just big enough to carry the car and small enough to fit in a garage) it will be a handful towing. Trying to find a balance will be a huge hurdle.
I am assuming the need to fit the trailer in the garage is due to home-owner restrictions?
It was fun buying a house 3 years ago and immediately eliminating 80% of them b/c there was no way to get the trailer in the back yard. I got very lucky!
Wayne, as far as storing your trailer, there are plenty of places in this area to store a trailer for about $30/ month.
As far as equipment goes (and I didn't read through all of the post...) TRY BEFORE YOU BUY! Different brands fit different. Don't compromise safety and comfort for price. Go out to Smilely's or Pro-Am and try some stuff on. PST at Cresson has a great selection of gear to try.
I'm right down the road, call me if you need anything
I'm borrowing a truck and trailer for April. Since I'm new to towing I bought a Sherline Trailer Tongue Weight Scale:

I'll have it at TWS if anyone wants to check their setup. It reads up to 1K lbs., so it would be good for car/trailer combos up to almost 10K lbs.
I didn't realize how close you were... that was funny running into you on the way to the dyno last Sunday  still trying to decide what truck to get?
Mitch taught me this trick....Quote:

If it sways at freeway speeds, you need to move the car forward or rearward some (cant remember which way) till the sway goes away. Once the position is found, mark the deck where you want the tire (one is plenty).
If your car is too far back, it will sway.
If your car is too far forward, it will transfer too much to the tongue and cause a porpoise effect.
Sounds correct to me.Quote:
