They spent $2000.00 to race at COTA.

Good Lord. You would think the folks in Texas are the ones on the Rocky Mtn high. That's 3 race weekends.
Oh well. Good to see everyone one.

Just beat on the car for a few sessions yesterday with a new radiator and longer air dam after it kept running hot at COTA in the afternoons.
Ran a solid 20* cooler than "usual", had trouble getting above 200* on 2nd/3rd gear course in just under 90* ambient.
Looks like I may finally not run hot at hallett in 5 years.
If I can get through the event without an incident that will be a first also.

Car doesn't have a rear axle yet...but I'm planning on being there.
Well ok, maybe "planning" isn't exactly the right word...

I am going to be there, is the correct language. Push, Pull or Drag that car into the trailer, and get it to Hallet.
Pranav is a whiz with rear ends.

Since it's going to come up...
We are doing the "traditional" Hallett event, yeah?
R1 - standing start based on qual times
R2 - flying start, inverted based on R1 finish
R3 - flying start, inverted based on R2 finish
R4 - standing start based on points accumulated in R1, R2, and R3.

Dave, I haven't heard otherwise so I'd say that is the plan!!
I'm ready to knock the dust off CMC#11. Have a dyno planned for Thursday evening to get my annual cert and a little more power with my fancy new headers. Then will leave Friday morning and see everyone about Noon.
WooHoo, Hallett!!!!!

Actually it would be the #24 is ready to knock the dust off the #11 even with less LS power than your 5.0! I'm also going after a S197 in AI if he dares to show up with his coconuts and dress.

Maybe we can team up. An underpowered LS and a really underpowered 4.6 and keep the 11 from the front.

Thanks Jerry-I'll team up with you but the power of my car isn't going to have any impact on how I feel about myself. But other than the 55 and 11 I would guess everyone has better torque numbers than my almighty LS1 at 292. But as me and Mosty know that isn't going to make a difference on track.
Now if I learned how to heel/toe and picked up some time then that would make me feel better about myself. Or if I could not lose 4 positions at the start of every race. Or ...

I don't understand how you can drive without rev matching downshifts. That's the part I like best about stick shifts!

Right, I couldn't do it in Sean's car at COTA because the pedal hight wasn't jiving, it made things difficult.

I don't understand either as sometimes I'm a little slower than you and sometimes I'm a little faster. Guess I question how many people can do it effectively enough that it really matters. Cota seemed to be the place I think it could really work with braking situations at high speeds down to second gear. At Hallett I'm guessing bus stop is the only place anyone goes down more than one gear at a time. Guess I'll have to modify my pedals sometime and do a practice day trying to learn.
Dave-did you lose an entire wheel? Don't think my wheels will work for you but I have a loose spare trailer tire in the garage I can bring up that you can have for free fiddy. Should be 225/75/15.

Nahh, Dave's trailer wheel hubs are consumable. Nature of the beast. My question is will I find the speed you fuckers are next year?! Holy crap! One can only hope that tire technology will carry me through but Sunday has yet to happen. Guess I'll bring the VHT. :D
