...Yeah, when we changed the valvesprings on James' car it woke it right up. Just... MMMWWUUUhhhahahahahah... change them out; how hard could it be?
I HATE that car right now. And only four more cylinders to go.
I think I'll get some TFS heads from Love and run in "The X"

using "L" shaped compressor and air compressor adapter in the spark plug hole????

Yup; specially shortened by cutoff wheel to clear the stupid cowl overhang.
Since I'm a pansy I had to drop the exhaust and pull the manifolds to get me some room.

oh... I forgot... 4th gen!!! I did a tune-up on my neighbors 4th gen the other day... all day job, lost my ass on that deal

I actually just turned the engine over cylinder by cylinder and used a small spring compressor. It did take several hours, but definitely not the worst job ever.

w/ or w/out heater core in place?
an LT1 w/out the core is much easier than an LS1 w/ it in place.
